Surprise Surprise

Not much of an eventful week, just the usual stuff e.g. movie-watching, window-shopping, etc. Just one thing to share.. I'm going to be an undergrad! School is starting in January and I'm pretty excited about it. I had to literally beg my parents for their approval even if I'm the one who will be paying the fees out of my own pocket. So I'm quite thrilled. Finally I have something to look forward to (:

Hibiki Japanese Restaurant

Its only natural to link the word 'buffet' with 'self-service', but that's not the case when it comes to Hibiki Japanese Restaurant (located at Cuppage Terrace). Buffet is served ala-cart-style from the friendly waitress. Must tries must be the Skewered Pork-belly with Golden Mushroom / Asparagus. My favourite would be the Torinabe. Good modern japanese hangout for the big-eater. Dinner buffet is a better value with unlimited duration for eating. (:

Kitty LAB

The all-hyped about Kitty Lab is finally here in Singapore. Having smashing success of its debut in Hong Kong, we harboured high hopes for the exibition. Visitors can enter the exhibit or so-called 'Kitty Lab' to play arcade-like games and collect 'Kiity DNA' to determine what your Kitty will look like (e.g. Choosing shoes / ribbons / accessories for Kitty). After the whole walk-about, you'll receive a card, depicting what your Kitty will look like.

After thoughts of the exibit, I can only say that well.. the games in each station only lasted ten seconds (there's thirteen stations by the way), and no second chances if you lose, so your Kitty's look / ribbon / clothes etc will be machine-determined. Mine had a moustache caused I lost a game. Oh and no photography is allowed, although the exhibits are all-so-cute ):

Marina Barrage

It was a day filled with laughter, gossips, and much fun on the Sunday when myself, Mei Lan, and Cheryl decided to meet-up at Marina Barrage. The day didn't start off too well, with heavy rains and thunder in the morning. Thankfully, the rain didn't last long. Had much excitement over kite-flying / picnic-ing / card-playing / photo-taking.

Sadly, halfway through, the string connected to the kite snapped and flew away into waters and there was no way we could salvage it. Still we have lotsa fun. (:

On a sidenote, it has come to my attention that fewer and fewer friends have been blogging. Some have even abandoned their blogs altogether due to 'busy schdules', 'Facebook is better', 'tedious to blog', etc. Just a personal viewpoint of mine: I always feel the need to continue my blog and upload pictures whenever I have new updates. Sure enough I do upload them on Facebook too, but I can never narrate a story of what happened in the photo as clearly as blogs do. Plus, I love to edit photos and add little captions to them, and these edited photos will never be found in my Facebook account. That's because I would like to make these photos exclusive to the blog only. So for now, I wouldn't be abandoning my blog any time soon.

Cheers!

Henderson Waves

On 10th October, we braved the scorching sun to Henderson Waves!

We are 64.20m above sea level.

Took my two newly acquired cameras for a trial. Eager to see what my Eximus film camera might produce, hopefully not another 'blank' negative.

Beautiful scenaries makes beautiful pictures.

With my almost unwilling model / assistant of mine for the day.

Thanks for the memories.

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

Once again we join our beloved Harvard Symbologist, Robert Langdon on his quest to unearth hidden answers, this time in Washington D.C. Truly a great read which ends with cliff-hangers on every chapter, giving the reader the 'pull' to carry on reading chapter after chapter / page after page. (:

Sweet Treats Saturday

SIM Open House in the early afternoon, made me have mixed feelings about my choice of degree. Shall wait and see then. Headed to Bukit Timah for dinner in the early evening to satisfy his cravings for Indian food (Not sure what the eatery is called, but I guess there's only one famous Indian eatery in that area). Must say that the calamari rings are un-rubberband-like and definitely juicy (two thumbs-up from me).

The night lights of Potong Pasir.
